Dog bites man. Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo’s campaign and its sister organizations were so very pleased Tuesday to announce that Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson — a living breathing registered Democrat! — is endorsing Trump apologist Joe Lombardo.

The current DA and former sheriff have been joined at the hip in countless ways over the years. If not a bromance, their relationship is at least a bro pact. For instance, they were recently in the news together on account of their shared dedication to looking the other way with respect to the Hope for Prisoners guy.

In other words, Wolfson endorsing Aaron Ford would be more surprising and more newsy than Wolfson endorsing Lombardo. That’s especially true with Lombardo, trying to compensate for having no affordability agenda, going back to the well: McGruff the Crime Governor.

Note: In the course of trying to get everyone to ignore the economy and instead focus on being afraid of criminals who aren’t white, Lombardo and his allies are leaning in hard on ugly race-baiting. And the Clark County District Attorney is obviously fine with that. So that’s good to know.

Meanwhile, Wolfson’s endorsement reminded me of something I keep forgetting to mention…

As you’ve probably heard more than a few times by now, Democrats must flip four Republican seats to take control of the U.S. Senate.

But that assumes the peculiarity that is Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman will not switch parties. (Or maybe Fetterman would vote for a Republican for Senate majority leader instead of a Democrat, but still call himself a Democrat, which sounds like a squirrelly thing Fetterman would do.)

Fetterman is more colorful than the Clark County DA (low bar). But that aside, Fetterman and Wolfson seem to be Democrats in roughly equal measure. In other words, Democrats very possibly need to flip five Republican seats if they want to assure JD Vance’s irrelevance.

IN NEVADA CURRENT

Real estate agents are people too. They contain multitudes. And one of these is not like the other. Micheal Lyle profiles a race for North Las Vegas City Council: 2 real estate agents vie to close sale with North Las Vegas voters

“When it’s a low-information, low-turnout election year, where the top of the ballot is the governor and constitutional offices, you tend to want to be on the top of the ballot as much as you can, so voters don’t get ballot fatigue.” Sort of a curious observation from the challenger. Low-turnout? We’ll see. (That aside, it almost sounds like a plug for the Nevada Current voter guide!) Dana Gentry reports: Attorney seeks to oust incumbent in Clark County District Court race

What would Gov. Veto do? It would really be quite surprising if Nevada legislators don’t take up a balcony solar bill when they convene early next year. Meanwhile next door… via Grist: California just made it legal to turn balconies into tiny power plants

So extreme moderation and saying “reach across the aisle” a lot just ain’t cutting it? Gosh, that’s a shocker. Via a collaboration between States Newsroom and The 19th: Gen Z women want politicians who can make the ‘American dream’ feel attainable

Good Luck
