Doing Democrats’ jobs for them. Trump is scheduled to visit Las Vegas today to pretend the whole point of his big butt ugly bill was not to slash taxes for the rich and corporate while decimating health care and public assistance programs, but to create a couple Byzantine tax deductions.
During his Las Vegas visit Trump is also expected to pretend he didn’t needlessly and moronically launch a war that will damage the global economy for months, if not years — an act so reckless and grotesque it makes the inflation caused by his inane import taxes look benign by comparison.
In an effort to help Gov. Joe Lombardo and Nevada Republican congressional candidates, maybe Trump will unveil a new plan to fix the Nevada economy he broke by, I dunno, blockading it.
Meanwhile, the press statements flooding my inbox from Democrats and allied organizations portend a lot of customarily uninspired counter-messaging.
In their defense, they don’t have any leadership right now.
And fortunately for Democrats, Trump is souring the electorate on Republicans every day in countless ways. So Democrats feel they are spared the burden of articulating an identifiable agenda other than ye olde incrementalism.

Trump budget director defends 43% hike for defense spending, adds that doesn’t count extra Iran war ask. History will record that the empire did not end with a bang, but in a farce.
Republicans block Iran war vote, again, as poll shows voters blame Trump for gas prices 2-to-1. Seriously? Only 2-to-1? Gah.
Good Luck
