I’m not Joe Lombardo.
But let’s talk about Joe Lombardo.
It was quite the week for the governor. Dana Gentry started out the week reporting that, when it comes to issues like affordability and inflation, Lombardo feels he “can’t control that.’ That’s a fed thing. A day or two later, Lombardo was chumming it up on stage with the guy who’s kinda in charge of that whole federal government thing. And he used his platform to defend taking care of billionaire friends.
Lombardo also gets a mention in Jenifer Solis’ write up this week about BLM advancing a Nye County solar project that had been frozen, and Michael Lyle’s thoughtful story about a new wrongful death lawsuit alleging guards fatally beat inmate.
Finally, because it’s not always bad news, Leilah Ortega highlighted the expansion of UNLV’s preschool, which is part of a fancy new early childhood education campus. Lombardo does not get a mention in that story. Make of that what you will.
Other highlights of the week include: a commentary on 3rd grade retention, a look at wildfire insurance, and a warning that President Trump’s attack on birthright citizenship isn’t over.
