Pretend he’s on the ballot. Trump is scheduled to land in Las Vegas later today, not to do any campaigning, evidently, but just to spend the night at that building with his name on it across the street from the shopping mall. And then tomorrow he’s scheduled to campaign across the river in Bullhead City, Arizona. It’s one of those scattered places where Trump is not campaign trail poison — he won 78% of the vote in Mohave County in 2024.

But he’s still going to mess up traffic in Las Vegas. It seems the least he could do is humiliate Nevada Republican candidates by making them either appear with him or contrive excuses not to while he’s here. Jerk.

IN NEVADA CURRENT

So many strains of needless economic harm. On the current trajectory, roughly 34,000 people in Nevada could lose legal immigration status by the end of 2028. “In Nevada, total losses are projected to reach 21,000 workers, an $849 million loss in annual economic contributions and an annual loss of $220 million in combined taxes,” a report found. Michael Lyle reports: Hit to NV economy from Trump immigration policies could top $400 million by year-end, report says

More than four out of five Indigenous people in the U.S. have experienced violent crime, according to national data. Those are some of the highest rates of violence for any demographic, with Indigenous women nearly three times more likely to be murdered than white women. Jeniffer Solis reports: Nevada lawmakers propose alert system for missing Indigenous people

Looks like we’ll make it! Unless I am mistaken, this is our penultimate judge race story for the 2026 campaign cycle. I opened my Clark County sample ballot yesterday and by my count there are five dozen judge seats on the ballot! The majority of them are uncontested races (something to consider while pondering electing vs. appointing judges, perhaps). But that still left a lot of races for Dana Gentry to profile for our voter guide. Like this one: Family Court incumbent challenged by former Clark County DA candidate
