Rose of Nevada, is the title a newly released film from the UK which is getting rave reviews. The title is the name of a tugboat. The film, set in a Cornish coastal town, appears to have doodley squat to do with the state of Nevada. Nobody says the boat's name in this trailer, so I guess we'll have to wait to find out if they say Nev-ADD-a or Nev-ODD-a. Though not having strong feelings personally on the subject, I will be pleasantly surprised if it's the former. Nevadans have enough problems already without being subjected to unsettling articulatory inaccuracies.
IN NEVADA CURRENT
Lock them up. Oh sure, ignoring the law is fine when the state Department of Corrections does it. Michael Lyle reports: Scoffing at state law requiring a study first, NDOC plans more limits on prison mail
Separate from the governor's office, for one thing. That's a premise for why this state financial job is an elected position. Informative and interesting, this is the story about the Democratic primary for state controller you didn't know you needed. Jeniffer Solis reports: Yes, state controller is a job. And Democrats are vying to challenge the Republican who holds it.
A little heartening in spots to be honest. Except for part where the incumbent couldn't be bothered to respond to a request for an interview, sigh. Dana Gentry reports: Attorneys attempt to unseat three-term Family Court judge
A quip to savor. Fun wordplay from Democratic congressional leaders is vanishingly rare. Jacob Fischler reports: Trump’s ‘dummymandering’ leaves US House remap in stalemate after Virginia vote
