Happy Saturday. Scan the internets, your inboxes, and candidate social media accounts, and you will be hard-pressed to find a statement or comment (I couldn't; if you spot one let me know) from the Nevada Republican Party, Nevada's Republican governor, or any of the Nevada Republicans running for Congress acknowledging let alone praising the "deal" Trump made with Iran.
If the memorandum of understanding (inasmuch as there still is one?) is as wonderful as Trump and Vance say it is, Republicans in Nevada would want to get some of it on them. They don't.
But then, Trump's Iran war priorities have shifted. Again.
Since launching the war Trump declared, if often only to discard, multiple reasons for it — regime change, no nuclear weapon (which Iran already doesn’t have), end of Iranian support for proxies, unconditional surrender, complete and total obliteration of Iran's military, etc.
Now that he's effectively lost the war he started with Iran, Trump has made clear his chief priority is putting it behind him.
His war is wildly unpopular, so Trump would like everyone to please refrain from talking about it.
If there’s one thing Nevada Republicans can be trusted to do, it’s whatever Trump wants. In this instance, they needn’t even be instructed to oblige.
