NV officials brace for Medicaid work requirements

The Joe Lombardo Is The Kindest Bravest Warmest Most Wonderful Human Being You've Ever Known In Your Life PAC (that might not be it's real name) that got a million dollars from a pro-AI/pro-data center billionaire California ex-pat has put up signs saying California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is endorsing Nevada Democratic candidate for governor Aaron Ford, the RJ reports.

Ooh. Oh my stars and garters, I’m sure.

Yes, some outfit — Ford's campaign, a pro-Ford PAC, the Democratic Governors Association, all of the above — will be putting up signs and running ads showing Lombardo and Trump chumming it up, probably with the "Lombardo-Trump economy" tagline. If they haven't already.

It is true that polls tend to show a lot of voters don't like Newsom very much.

But they don't like Trump more. A lot more. Including independents.

Lombardo's campaign and his allied PACs have money to burn, so whatever. But save for the roughly third (and shrinking) of the electorate that is full-on for Trump no matter what, anti-Trump sentiment, or at the least deep disappointment with Trump, permeates society. It's hard to believe anti-Newsom ads land with any consequential impact on anybody except Republicans.

Every campaign has to do a lot of things to shore up the base and get its own out to vote. Presumably that’s what the Lombardo PAC’s Newsom-Ford signs are about.

IN NEVADA CURRENT

The complexity president (but not in a nice way). “It’s not just that someone, for example, has a serious or complex medical condition, but that that condition impacts their ability to work or to volunteer or to go to school. You can imagine there’s a lot of complexity to what that looks like,” said a Nevada health official about complying with the "medically frail" language in the Trump rules designed to kick people off Medicaid (the Trump administration describes the intent of their policy differently). After all, optional wars of aggression catastrophically ill-conceived by charlatans and that empower your adversary, wreak havoc on the economy (U.S., Mideast, and global), weaken the U.S. militarily, and obliterate U.S. credibility — well, all that doesn't come cheap.
