Nevada bigwigs traveled to Washington this week to make the case for why the Silver State should host the first Democratic presidential primary in 2028. Their argument wasn’t compelling enough to warrant much space in our national news team’s write-up of the festivities. I point that out as a slight to our state’s political industrial complex, not the author of that article. The Nevada Democrats’ pitch about why we matter feels pretty similar to other states.

And anyway who’s to say we’ll even have elections in 2028? They might be all dismantled via executive order by then! Maybe we have bigger fish to fry than fighting over who gets to be line leader.
