As if the the world didn't already have enough reminders of how everything is going to hell in very large part thanks to USA! USA! USA!, Trump is putting his picture on new passports.
On the bright side (where I'm always looking), Americans are dramatically scaling back their international travel plans, because duh. And given what are increasingly looking like really rather long-term (i.e. years, not months) economic impacts of Trump's blunders, international travel may be curtailed for quite some time. So maybe a lot of people won't even be trying to get a new passport until Trump's crap branding is inevitably removed from all the things he's slapping it on.
On the less than bright side, the scaling back isn't confined to Americans, or international travel, and Nevada is a heavily tourist-reliant affair.
IN NEVADA CURRENT
DOGE cosplay and a hacked crypto wallet. If that doesn't sound like a Republican primary for a state treasurer in the year of our lord 2026, I don't what does. Fun! Matthew Mondschein reports: Mud flies in Republican primary for state treasurer
Progressive challenges to Titus. There is a case to be made for running against Dina Titus from the left. Maybe someone will effectively make that case in 2028. Michael Lyle reports: Titus faces three primary challengers as she seeks her eighth term in CD1
The king's speech. I actually watched it while eating lunch. With his reference to checks and balances, Charles sort of ate the Republicans’ lunch for them. And Vance was visibly squirming when Charles reminded everyone about the need to support Ukraine. Vance also didn't like being reminded that nature, you know, has a vote in how all this (i.e., civilization) is going to play out. So yes, politely, and ever so gently, Charles was totally trolling Trump and the Republicans ha ha. Meanwhile Trump posted a picture of Charles and him under the heading “TWO KINGS” and a crown emoji, because of course he did. Ashley Murray reports: King Charles to Congress: ‘Executive power is subject to checks and balances’
Also, this will not make things more affordable. This re-indictment is inane and going nowhere. But it is a reminder that no matter how big the messes Trump makes, his personal grievances will always be a higher priority for him than the nation's well-being. Jonathan Shorman reports: Ex-FBI Director James Comey, targeted by Trump, indicted for ’86 47′ seashell photo
Nevada is not one of them. There was a bill to study this once, but it's Nevada so, you know. Kevin Hardy reports: Millionaire taxes gain steam as states face budget crunches
Good Luck
