Lombardo shoulda told Trump about Colorado. Trump hates Colorado.

Eh? Generally regarded as as a civilized and sensible people, Canadians probably were never as big a market, proportionally, for Trump's Las Vegas hotel as they used to be for so many other Las Vegas gambling/tourism properties. And Trump being, you know, Trump, probably the only Las Vegas visitor volume he gives a damn about is the one at the building with his name on it.

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney smacking down and standing up to Trump over the weekend is not unlike the scoffs and eye-rolls with which the world has reacted to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's "economic D-Day for Iran." Both responses to the Trump regime illustrate how the U.S. has become a pariah state that nobody trusts or wants much to do with. Have a nice day.

IN NEVADA CURRENT

The Colorado River cuts. Nevada got the smallest cut of the three lower Colorado River Basin states under the fed decision announced Friday. But NV also has, by far, a much smaller allocation of water from the river than either Arizona or (especially) California to begin with. Meanwhile, no cuts were mandated for upper basin states, which include Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado. Maybe lower basin negotiators — and Nevada's Trump-whispering governor, for that matter — should have made sure that Trump knew a) Colorado River negotiations have been underway (it seems the sort of thing Trump wouldn't know/care jack about), and b) Colorado is in the upper basin. Note: Just as I was about to hit send on the newsletter Lombardo issued a statement saying the state, the Colorado River Commission of Nevada and the Southern Nevada Water Authority are suing the Dept. of Interior over the water cuts. So if Lombardo sues the Trump administration about, oh, 40 more times, he’ll have sued it as many times as Aaron Ford has.

It's tempting to just dismiss it as hideous, repugnant, and nauseating, and to not bother paying attention to the legal (or illegal, more to the point) niceties of billionaires and corporations corruptly currying favor from corrupt Trump by helping to pay for his asinine ballroom.
