A roundup of the latest from the Nevada Current,

A thing worth keeping an eye on this week is how congressional Republicans, and Nevada congressional Republican wannabes, react to Trump sucking up to Putin and yet again siding with Russia against Ukraine. A quick look at the Nevada hopefuls’ socials this morning found no sign of them acknowledging Trump’s putrid behavior over the weekend. Which makes sense, Republicans from coast to coast having decided the first rule of Trump is you don’t talk about Trump. (NV Republican CD3 candidate Marty O’Donnell did host a video game contest/party over the weekend, though. Dude is so in tune with concerns of Nevada voters, no? Finger on the pulse.)

IN NEVADA CURRENT

The National Republican Congressional Committee is the campaign fundraising and message massaging organization that works to get Republicans elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. It is important to Republicans that they maintain control of Congress, you see, because then the legislative branch of government would continue to be a quivering pile of jello that fails to fulfill its duties under the U.S. Constitution. And then Trump can keep doing whatever he wants whenever he wants — no matter how corrupt the grift, braindead the actions, and/or horrific the consequences.

A while back the NRCC orchestrated an event for House Speaker and Trump lapdog-in-chief Mike Johnson and aspiring jello cube Carrie Buck at a Southern Nevada publicly funded charter school, where the greatness of Republican policies, including Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, were discussed. And yet even though it was choreographed by the primary campaign organization of House Republicans, everyone is supposed to politely refrain from calling it a campaign event. Sounds legit. Unless you’re a parent who would rather not see kids used as campaign props while they’re at school. Dana Gentry reports: Buck violated tax code by campaigning at charter school, parent complains to state

Henderson Justice Courts handle criminal cases, but also civil cases, including traffic cases, misdemeanors and small claims. So if the SVU guy wins will he be bored? (Just kidding). Jeniffer Solis reports: A pair of prosecutors vie for new seat on Henderson Justice Court

Nevada voters can attest to that. “The politicians are chasing the grassroots, they aren’t leading on the issue,” notes a policy guy with the Good Jobs First. Via Stateline: Data center backlash set to sway midterm elections

Good Luck
