Buck tries to erase her social media record

The president’s cognition. The U.S. and Iran will “make a deal right after the election because it doesn’t make sense for them not to,” Trump said at the UN yesterday (see below).

And he added this:

“They’re waiting to see how I do in the midterm election. What they don’t realize is that I’m not running.”

Since the U.S. launched the war many expert-texperts have noted that U.S. society and systems are more open (even under Trump) than in Iran. So not surprisingly, Iran’s comprehension of what’s going on in the U.S. (as demonstrated by, oh, Lego TikToks) appears to be more sophisticated than the Trump administration’s comprehension of Iran (as illustrated by, oh, the war itself).

So when Trump said… 

“what they don’t realize is that I’m not running”

…it’s tempting to dismiss it as just Trump spewing nonsense, as usual. Trump’s frequent urging of voters to pretend otherwise notwithstanding, of course Trump knows that Iran knows he’s not running. 

Right?

Or so one might have once thought. At this point, given his deterioration, it’s honestly impossible to say what he does or doesn’t know at any given moment. And those closest to him are not only letting him say and do whatever pops into his head, but egging him on.

A Republican who, unlike Trump, is running this year is Carrie Buck, in Nevada congressional district 1, where she is challenging Democratic incumbent Dina Titus. And no doubt when Buck posted all those things on social media that she has since taken down, they seemed like a good idea at the time.
